What We Accept at Our Temecula Recycling Center
Recycle Strong is a full-service drop-off recycling facility, which means we accept far more than just cans and bottles. Here's a high-level overview of what we take — see our individual category pages for details, current pricing, and preparation tips.
We do not accept catalytic converters, fabric (clothing, linens, textiles), household trash, hazardous waste, or items containing fluids.
How a Drop-Off Recycle Center Actually Works
If you've never used a drop-off recycling center before, here's what to expect. When you arrive at our Temecula location, our team will direct you to the appropriate drop-off area based on the materials in your vehicle. For items we pay for — aluminum cans, plastic bottles, copper, brass, steel, and so on — we weigh everything on certified scales calibrated to California state standards. You receive payment based on the current market rate for that material, by the pound.
For items we accept at no charge — cardboard, appliances, electronics — you simply unload them in the designated areas. We then sort, process, and route everything to downstream recyclers and processors who turn the material back into new products. Aluminum cans, for example, can be melted down, formed into new sheet metal, and back on store shelves as new cans in as little as 60 days. Steel from a junked refrigerator can re-enter the supply chain as automotive parts or construction rebar within a few months.

What to Expect on Your First Visit
First-time visitors are always welcome. Here's a quick walkthrough so you know what to bring and how the process works.
- Gather your materials. Bag or box loose cans and bottles. Drain any fluids from motors. Stack cardboard flat if you have a lot of it.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID. California state law may require ID verification for certain transactions, especially non-ferrous metal transactions.
- Drive into our Temecula location during business hours. Our staff will direct you where to go based on your materials.
- Materials we pay for are weighed on certified scales. You'll be paid based on current per-pound market rates.
- Materials we accept at no charge are unloaded in designated drop-off areas — no paperwork, no hassle.

Why Recycling Matters in the Inland Empire
Southern California generates more solid waste per capita than most regions of the country, and the Inland Empire — with its rapidly growing population and active construction, automotive, and home improvement sectors — contributes a sizable share.
